3 Questions is an interview-style series featuring some of my favorite bloggers. Every week, I ask one inspirational person 3 completely random questions and ask them to share three photos that represent Who they are, What they do or make and Where they feel the happiest.
Allison has an authenticity that moves me. It’s not hard to see that she has a passion for both creating and savoring sweet moments in life. And I’m so glad she shares some of these moments, along with her handmade creations, with us on her blog. (Actually, I think she is the one who most inspired me to start knitting.)
1. What kind of old person do you want to be?
I’ve got a milestone birthday coming up this month, so getting older has been on my mind. As I age, I want to keep a positive outlook and feel no regrets about my life. I hope to learn something every day and remain curious about the world. I want to continue crafting and reading, to go for walks, and to travel as long as I am able. And most especially, I hope to grow old with my husband.
2. What are your favorite TV shows?
I don’t keep up with many current TV shows, but I am excited about the return of “Downton Abbey.” It feels like the perfect show to watch while I knit. My all-time favorite shows include “Flight of the Conchords,” “Arrested Development,” “Freaks and Geeks,” and “The Wire.” “Louie” and “Bob’s Burger’s” have some hilarious scenes too. Also, I’ll always watch an episode of “Seinfeld” if it’s on. That show is classic.
3. What is one thing you cannot live without?
Yarn! I am a yarn fiend on a budget, so I use my stash as much as I can and carefully plan out all new yarn purchases. But oh, what a rush new yarn gives! It holds so much possibility, and it makes me endlessly happy when I find a yarn that perfectly fits with a project I want to make. Most recently I received a skein of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, a yarn I’d been wanting to try for a long time, and I knit it into a Snoflinga hat. The yarn and pattern really highlight each other’s beauty.
