3 Questions is an interview-style series featuring some of my favorite bloggers. Every week, I ask one inspirational person 3 completely random questions and ask them to share three photos that represent Who they are, What they do or make and Where they feel the happiest.
Nicola is a Canadian currently living in Denmark. She has a great eye for fashion and design aesthetics in general. Her recipes and DIY posts always surprise me in their simplicity yet are perfectly clever, effective and beautiful. She fits right in with the modern simplicity and ease of Danish design and lifestyle. Recently she has gotten back into dance and often shares musings from the studio.
1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Between 4 different countries over 8 years, I’ve lived away from home so long that I often imagine what it would be like to live in my hometown of Victoria, B.C. I don’t think I will move back there in reality, but it’s always nice to think about the simplicity of that life.
2. When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I spent a lot of time not thinking about this. I know it sounds strange but I left my home at eighteen for Australia and then moved from there to England and eventually Germany. I guess I had wanderlust and never really considered the later, only the now. When I moved to Denmark, and settled a little bit more, that was probably the first time I started thinking about anything beyond.
3. Are you a pessimist or an optimist?
I like to call myself a realist but I have a feeling most people would say I’m a pessimist. In all honestly, despite all of my travel and uncertainty, I really like order and control, one of the dichotomies of my personality I suppose. There’s an element of speculation in being an optimist, and I find it easier to lean towards the cautious, pessimistic option instead.
