Yarn Along - Knitting and Reading

I’m joining in Yarn Along this week hosted by Ginny of Small Things. It’s a chance for those of us who love knitting and reading to share what project is currently on our needles and which book we have our noses buried in. And I personally add what music I’ve been listening to as well.

Knitting: Last week I started giving into that temptation of wanting to cast on every. single. skein. of yarn I own. (As well as perusing shops to buy more yarn and adding countless new patterns to my queue.) Luckily I spotted a KAL and that reigned me in and redirected my focus. The Very Shannon TTTKAL starts May 7th (I’m leaning towards Saco Stripes) so I’ve decided that is a good deadline to finish my Clairette Cardigan. Not long after I cast on, I made the ambitious-to-me goal to have it complete by the first of May, which would be three months from the cast on date. I say ambitious-to-me because previous sweaters took me more like five or six months. Currently I’m about halfway up the sleeves then all I have to do is the yoke/shoulders. I’m feeling hopeful that I can finish it!

Reading: Not much! Mostly I’ve been flipping through books borrowed from the library—just inspirational, how-to style books with no linear plot. As well as getting caught up on my blog reading.

Listening: The new albums from The Secret Sisters, Nickel Creek and Jessica Lea Mayfield. Songs to check out Rattle My Bones, Destination and I Wanna Love You .

What are YOU knitting/crocheting, reading or listening to this week?
