Good Morning and Happy Monday! The blog has been rather quiet over the last few weeks. My Grandma lives with us and was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia the day after her 92nd birthday. She came home two weeks later and has been convalescing here at home with us since. The doctor wanted her to go to a rehab but we pretty much said "No, Thanks," and wheeled her right out the door. Home and family are the best medicine for her right now. My Mom and Aunt have been amazing and I'm doing my best to keep up with them and help out anyway I can. Thankfully she is doing better. She has plenty of that Irish determination and resilience, which probably has a lot to do with why she is 92. We are keeping positive and digging deep into our own strength reserves.
Anyway, I have a lot of great things to share and talk about here in February and can't want to do so. First up are my January socks for the Challenge! The pattern is Irish Oats by cabinfour (gifted to me by Melissa) in Quince and Co's Chickadee. It was the perfect knitting marriage--a fun knit and a beautiful end result. I often worked on them while in the waiting rooms of doctor's offices or ERs last month and had a lot of strangers complimenting them. Specifics at Ravelry.
I drew the winner for the second giveaway. Kristin won a cabinfour sock pattern of her choice from Deneise and a $25 gift certificate to Quince and Co from me. Can't wait to see what you pick out and knit! April will be the next giveaway month, so keep knitting those socks and submitting them to the linky! If any designers, makers, yarnies, etc, want to team up with me on these future giveaway or simply offer discounts anytime, please contact me.
