Apologies for the silence here lately. My blogging has been pretty sparse and sporadic anyway, but this time, I actively avoided it, as well as all other social media. Simply put, I’ve hit a bit of a quiet spell. Over the last few years, there have been a lot of big things in my life: changes, challenges, joys. I don't always feel comfortable talking about a lot of them here, because, although they affect me greatly, they often aren’t my stories to tell. One of these more recent things was the fact that my Grandma was in hospice since February. Determined to keep her here home, everyone in this house put our lives on hold and made her our top priority. She passed away last month and all the built up exhaustion and emotion finally caught up with me. I'm not going to go into too much detail, just know that I am well and simply feeling the need to be quiet and take it slow. I’ve been focusing my energy on gardening, putting up harvests, soaking in so much sunshine, tending to 41 (!) chickens, and, of course, dyeing yarn. Above is a mosaic---simple iPhone captures of some the moments that stopped me in my tracks with their beauty, charm or humor, in the past month. I can't guarantee that I'll be back to blogging (or podcasts) regularly anytime soon, but I am posting on Instagram again if you want to follow there. (And for those of you waiting for a shop update: I'm thinking a big one in late summer/early fall.)
I hope your days are filled with summer's beauties.
