GIFTING No. 10 + 11 : Green Forest and Henny

The Gifting Series is where I try to give back, in my own little handmade way, to the people in my life that are important to me. All Gifting posts can be seen here.

When my Grandma was in her final months, she complimented my Godmother on her headband. Off it came and was handed across the dining room table. "Here. You can have it," said my Godmother. That sums her up quite perfectly. She is easily one of the most generous and thoughtful people I know--always remembering little details and going out of her way to find ways to help and give.

A headband/earwarmer like this really suits her, and tied with the story above, I knew it'd be a perfect gift. Ideally, a jewel toned color would be best but I went with my own dyed yarn (mixed berries) since she's always been a big supporter of mine. The pattern is called Green Forest, which is free and very simple.

Also knit in December to be gifted was a Henny Hat. This one was for my Aunt, another supporter of mine. (Hey, I've got a lovely family!) I know we are all equally Irish, but she might have a wee bit more Irish in her blood than the rest of us. So, the last bit of Knit Pick's Preciosa in the Bonsai colorway was my choice for her. Two skeins made three hats. This one, a simple beanie with a pom pom and a Kathleen.

Ravelry notes here and here.
